Srinagar, Dec 02 (KNO): The government has said that it may require additional books for the students of classes’ I-VII in view of increase in fresh enrollment. The School Education Department in this regard had issued a notification to all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of Kashmir division, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “Since enrolment drive is in full swing in all the schools of the division which has resulted in the additional demand of books in addition to the figures already projected by your district earlier,” reads the notification issued by the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK). The director said that most of our new enrollment falls in pre-primary classes for which the DSEK has already issued K G Kits for newly enrolled children on a pro-rata basis. “Besides, the additional requirements can be met out of a school grant recently released by Samagra Shiksha. However, for classes I-VIII there is also a considerable increase in new enrolment for which more books will be required,” it reads. DSEK advised the CEOs to furnish the details of additional requirement of books for classes I-VIII to the DSEK office immediately so that the matter would be taken on priority with JKBOSE authorities—(KNO)
